Fan-Made Teaser Trailer: Man of Steel 2

As the internet continues to process the idea that we're living a world where the next Batman is being played by Ben Affleck (via petition, via think-piece), a crafty fan out there has put together a teaser trailer of what the sequel to Man of Steel might look like. Note: Bryan Cranston hasn't been officially cast as Lex Luthor yet as of writing.

Man of Steel will be out on DVD and Blu-ray on October 30.

Lost meets 24

So what's better than a mash-up? When two of your favourite things are being mashed-up, which in this case, is Lost being given the real-time, split-screen 24 treatment. Kinda clever, the actual plane explosion is particularly well-done. Naturally, spoilers for Lost if you haven't seen the show.

Hitler Finds Out Avatar Trailer is Crap

The blogosphere is currently rife with dissenting opinions on the Avatar preview/trailer, and also lots of Tarantino/Inglourious Basterds chatter - so why not, sort of, kinda, combine the two? This is another one of those Downfall parodies that seem to pop up every time there's widespread disappointment in the media about some major event (more Hitler spoofs here). As far as it goes, it's not bad, with some good lines: "Cameron has spent too much time underwater and has taken the Hollywood opiate of putting technology before story!".

Lost: The Sitcom!

So what's a Lost fan supposed to do in the (excruciating) downtime until Season 6 starts next Feb? If all the suffocatingly obsessive forum discussions are getting a bit too much, there's always the abundance of fan-created material on youtube to tide you over. The latest I've stumbled across is a great mix of Lost's Season 1 opening credits with Full House's theme song (there's a few more at TV Squad). It's kind of interesting how easily Lost lends itself to the late '80s/early '90s sitcoms, though it probably speaks to how cheesy the show can be at times (and no doubt the editorial wit of the clips' makers). But I dunno, maybe it's the hair or something. Either way it's pretty funny stuff. Love how they got the Full House typeface in there.

Robocalypse

Just when you think that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen looked like it could be the Ultimate Michael Bay Movie, comes along this hilariously inspired, quite brilliant marriage of the latter's trailer and Terminator: Salvation's, resulting in a 'bot-mad epic that plays like Bay's hardware fetish at its most grossly excessive. If only it were real. Best line: "And worst of all... they're eating all our sand..."
