This "unofficial" opening credits sequence to Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin by James Curran (aka slimjimstudios) is one of the most charming bits of animation I've seen in a while. It also charmed the pants off Spielberg, so much so that he's invited Curran to the premiere and given him a job!

In sort of sucky news, we're going to be among the last in the world to see this movie...

First Look: The Adventures of Tintin Poster
Paramount's just released the first poster for The Adventures of Tintin, and I have to say it looks pretty nice. I'm not really a motion capture animation fan, but I do love the comics and find myself a little hyped for this due to Spielberg's involvement. It's set for release in New Zealand on Boxing Day this year. Peter Jackson is scheduled to direct the second film.

Trailer: Super 8
J.J. Abrams sure knows how to tease. As with the initial marketing campaign of Cloverfield, which he produced, details of his new film Super 8 have been shrouded in secrecy. The superb teaser trailer which surfaced last year and showed not too damn much, left many to speculate whether the film itself was somehow related to Cloverfield. But he's now finally revealed a few things about the upcoming Spielberg-produced film to L.A. Times' Hero Complex, and check out this TV spot which premiered at the Super Bowl a few days ago, there's like actual actors and plot stuff in it... bloody excited I am.

For the Star Wars Fan with Everything #12
A very cool open letter from Steve Spielberg to George Lucas that appeared in Variety congratulating Lucas on the success of Star Wars. These guys really knew how to work it back in the day... this kind of showy, elbow-nudging levity amongst filmmakers is rare today. Imagine say, James Cameron doing this to er, Michael Bay? Unlikely.
